Yay!Yippee!Had an awesome time at Kala Ghoda Cultural festival yesterday.
Went there thinking that it will be another one of those art festivals. But I forgot the fact that since it's main sponsor is the TOI group,it had to be on a grand scale.First of all,I was amazed by the level of expertise shown by the dancers of the show. There was this dance group called DANCEWORX and all the performances in the show were by them. All the guys and girls were fit and their bodies were toned and they performed steps that required years of hard work in the field of dance.
I envied all those guys and was really smitten by some of those beautiful girls! They all had such amazing bodies and best of all they made their bodies move in such beautiful rhythmic patterns. There was a tribute dance to MJ,a beautiful dance based on a french song. And also there were so many more dances. The show continued for another few dances and ended with a fashion show featuring women achievers(though not all of them were achievers,I'd say.....I mean how does appreciating art make one an achiever.)Bought myself a T-shirt at a WSD (Welfare of stray dogs) stall. Also my pal Bharat and me bought a few leaf paintings, which were awesome.
My friends and me then went over to the NGMA(national gallery of modern art) nearby and we entered a packed amphitheatre there.Oh man!The standup comedians there were hilarious. There was this foreigner guy, who seemed to have been staying in Mumbai since some time-he was really good with his jokes, and also performed some small skits really well. Also there was this guy from Dubai who was really funny with his dry wit and his 'social networking' jokes. Also saw Alyque Padamsee and his daughter Shahzahn perform.Alyque was amazing.Shahzahn's one-act play's topic was really heart-rendering,and so was her performance.
By the time we left, we were all very tired and had enjoyed our time there. So we went back to the station by cab.Oh ,before I forget I want to mention how Bharat saved me a few bucks by not letting me overpay the cabbie.
Also, overall I had a great time at the festival there.Signing off.Hope to continuing blogging.
